Serving
Through Teaching
- Young children make up a significant portion of our local body. This creates ample opportunity for service. Our children's church teachers work on a rotation. While we strive for consistency in the curriculum, more adults in this rotation will keep our teachers fresh and the lessons vibrant.
- Likewise, opportunities for teaching children's Sunday school classes often arise. While teen and adult classes are more consistently covered, these teachers would love to take advantage of a co-teacher/training situation until they are ready to step down or begin a rotation themselves.
- While you do not have to be an official member of our church to serve in many capacities here at FBC, teaching is one area where church membership is required.
Through Child Care
- Toddler and infant nursery workers minister in a profound way to the young mothers of our church. For many of these mothers, the opportunity to sit before God's Word without interuption is difficult to come by throughout their week. The nursery service provides them time for the acute spiritual sharpening that equips them for their busy and often exhausting lifestyles.
- As with every ministry in our church that involves minors, our child protection policy requires such workers to undergo a background check and attend our child protection training class.
Through Food Donation
- The church Food Pantry is in regular use and donations of food items are always appreciated. Toiletries including diapers, as well as paper products such as plates, napkins, kleenexes, etc. are also accepted.
- Furthermore, if you know of someone in need, send them our way or arrange to bring items from our pantry to them. This ministry is yet one more means to demonstrate the genuine love of Christ and introduce people to His saving gospel.
By Driving
- Van Drivers are needed for our Sunday morning services. Many adults in our community find themselves without any form of personal transportation. Now that we have the means to pick them up they don't have to miss worship anymore, but a few more drivers would ease the burden on our current volunteers.
- Of course opportunities for service are limitless; and you don't have to minister through this church to serve God, but these are some of the more urgent opportunities within our congregation. If we can help facilitate other ministries that God has laid on your heart we will prayerfully pursue that as well.
